Blogging Challenge and looking forward to my weekend

First things first....my boyfriend will be here so soon!!! Ahhhh I can't wait for him to be in DC and see where I have spent the majority of the last 4 years of my life. I also have been missing him something terrible so I cant wait to be able to hug him and hold his hand and all that cheesy boyfriend/girlfriend stuff. Our game plan this weekend is to see as much as we can without driving ourselves mad so tonight e will wander the monuments and relax. Saturday we are going to the ZOO!!!! This one was my choice haha. I havent seen it yet and he is being super sweet to take me. We will also be hitting up the Air and Space museum, it's my favorite museum in all of the Smithsonians! Then the rest of the day is loose as we didnt wanna press ourselves for time at all. The poor guy only gets one weekend off a month I don't wanna make him feel like he is working and on a schedule. Sunday I am treating him to the Baltimore Aquarium. He is a huge marine biology lover and has a saltwater tank with corals and adorabel fish himself so I think he is really excited to see this, at least I hope he is cause I am!!! I still need to get myself packed though haha and prepare myself mentally for my drive downtown. =O

So in order to start getting myself better in the groove of this whole blogging thing I have decided to participate in a blogging challenge to blog everyday in May.(excuse my run on sentences I spent the morning with Thomas Mann's Schwere Stunde and man can he rattle on...in a good Nobel Prize winning way) It is being started/hosted by Jenni over at Story of My Life which is a great read. She has helped inspire me to blog and what a better way than to follow her challenge?!?! So there is that...

Here are the rules:

1. There really aren't any rules. If you miss a day, you can make it up or skip it. The blog police will not come knocking.

2. I will be including a linkup option at the bottom of my post each day, so you are welcome to leave your links here for others to peruse, as well.

3. You can still post other things every day, too. I plan to do normal outfit posts, life posts, around-Austin posts, and sponsor posts just like usual.

4. I'd seriously love you if you also include the "blog every day in May" button (below) either on your sidebar or at the end of your posts, but again, the blog police will not come knocking. My main goal here is to get us all back to the basics of blogging, not to gain a million new readers (though I wouldn't mind that).

5. Here are the topics. You can be as creative and awesome or as boring and bland as you like with these. Take 'em and run with it. Use creative post titles. Interpret each "prompt" however you like. There's no wrong way to do it. Have fun.

Day 1, Wednesday: The story of your life in 250 words or less (or one paragraph... no one will be counting your words... probably)
Day 2, Thursday: Educate us on something you know alot about or are good at. Take any approach you'd like (serious and educational or funny and sarcastic)
Day 3, Friday: Things that make you uncomfortable
Day 4, Saturday: Favorite quote (from a person, from a book, etc) and why you love it
Day 5, Sunday: Publicly profess your love and devotion for one of your blogger friends. What makes them great? Why do you love them? If you don't have blogger friends, talk about a real-life friend or even a family member
Day 6, Monday: If you couldn't answer with your job, how would you answer the question, 'what do you do'?
Day 7, Tuesday: The thing(s) you're most afraid of
Day 8, Wednesday: A piece of advice you have for others. Anything at all.
Day 9, Thursday: A moment in your day (this can be just a photo or both a photo and words)
Day 10, Friday: Most embarrassing moment (s). Spill.
Day 11, Saturday: Sell yourself in 10 words or less
Day 12, Sunday: What do you miss? (a person, a thing, a place, a time of your life...)
Day 13, Monday: Issue a public apology. This can be as funny or as serious or as creative as you want it to be.
Day 14, Tuesday: Ten things that make you really happy
Day 15, Wednesday: A Day in the life (include photos from throughout your typical day - this could be "a photo an hour" if you'd like)
Day 16, Thursday: Something difficult about your "lot in life" and how you're working to overcome it
Day 17, Friday: A favorite photo of yourself and why
Day 18, Saturday: Tell a story from your childhood. Dig deep and try to be descriptive about what you remember and how you felt.
Day 19, Sunday: Five of your favorite blogs and what you love about them
Day 20, Monday: Get real. Share something you're struggling with right now.
Day 21, Tuesday: A list of links to your favorite posts in your archives
Day 22, Wednesday: Rant about something. Get up on your soapbox and tell us how you really feel. (a pet peeve, a current event, a controversial topic, something your husband or roommate or neighbor or boss does that really ticks you off)
Day 23, Thursday: Things you've learned that school won't teach you
Day 24, Friday: Your top 3 worst traits
Day 25, Saturday: Something someone told you about yourself that you'll never forget (good or bad)
Day 26, Sunday: Something you read online. Leave a link and discuss, if you'd like.
Day 27, Monday: A letter to your readers
Day 28, Tuesday: Only pictures
Day 29, Wednesday: Five songs or pieces of music that speak to you or bring back memories. Use Grooveshark or YouTube to include them in the post
Day 30, Thursday: React to this term: Letting Go
Day 31, Friday: A vivid memory

I need my own Emily!

In my junior year of college I had the opportunity to intern with an awesome company that worked in govt. contracting. I had the pleasure of being the Executive Assistant to the CEO and when I go back to visit they always point out to the new interns that I am THE Emily, they even call the new assistant that until Emily until they get their name right. Haha thats awful but incredibly flattering as well. Getting to my point though I have been feeling that lately I need my own Emily! I have been way behind on keeping up with people that I mean to stay in contact with as well as random projects that I have started....like this blog for example.

Luckily for me my final semester of college is winding down with mostly readings and finals left for me to do...not necessarily helpful for my senioritis though! What I am currently looking forward to though is a weekend with my boyfriend who is flying into DC this friday! =) I can hardly wait! Only thing I am not looking forward to is driving my car downtown. I just keep reminding myself it will all be worth it and that after I pull it off I can have a nap to relax till the bf's plane lands. We have some fun plans including the zoo, air and space museum, and the baltimore aquarium as a very special all day trip. I am so excited that he will be coming. It was starting to feel like too long till I would see him again after graduation since he lives back in Michigan. This weekend is just what I need!(only downside will be getting circled by sharks....thank God I will have Jason's hand to hold.)

Group Projects and why they should be avoided at all costs

This little pie graph sums up my feelings about group projects in the school setting. TRUST NO ONE!!! Unfortunatley I find myself to be that person in group project who winds up doing most of the work with very little reward aside from my grade. My profs don't recognize my hard work because those other members who don't work as hard are spending their time with their lips against the prof's bumm. Yup I said it....and no I will not take back the truth. I have never enjoyed group projects and one I am currently working one is pushing me to the very edge of my sanity. One group member keeps insisting on changes but does not appreciate or politely deal with our criticisms. So I have found myself getting snarky and downright rude just to ge tmy point across. I put too much hard work into this project to let it slip away now.....sorry for that vent today but I couldn't bottle it up anymore. Just reminding myself that it will all be over monday. Eyes on the prize.

What on earth is a Nobleman's nook?!?!?

Hello all! This is my first blog post ever and well quite frankly I am not sure what will become of it. I just feel the need as of late to really begin documenting what all is going on in my life at the moment as well as what is to come. So here are some facts Jack(yes I love Si and Duck Dynasty)

1) I will officially have graduated from college on May 18, 2013....30 days from now
2) In regards to #1 I have no clue who thinks this is a good idea. I swear I just unpacked my bags and walked out of my terrifying first day of German 101
3) I speak German....well I attempt to and there are teachers who have given me grades suggesting I do quite well at it. They even let me in an honor's society(I think they just wanted the money =P)
4) #3 I only started a measley 4 years ago with a year off from official classes due to studying business in Dublin, Ireland
5) Yes, I have been to Dublin as well as London, Rome, Naples, Athens, Sydney, Brisbane, and Munich. I am in LOVE with traveling and cultures and food from around the world, most specifically the baked goods.
6) I am an International Business Major....#5 is making sense now isn't it?(I was a german minor until I went to dublin, my prof is still heartbroken over that I think)
7) I am only 21 years old, yup a youngin but I just made that October cut off in Michigan school systems =)
8) As 7 suggests I was born and raised in Michigan but in fact peaced out to Washington DC for college
9) I would love to own a bakery one day....what can I say it's my passion
10) I have an awesome family that I love dearly....even though they drive me absolutley insane at times.
11)I love them so much I am gonna help manage my dad's doctor's office back in Michigan after I graduate. Along with my mom, aunt, and people I have known since I was born or as they say "since you were that big"

Have I lost you? I hope not. Stopping at 11 facts as that is one of my lucky numbers. Also couldnt let you know everything about me now could I? Why would you wanna come back?

Now to get to the very simple awnser to the question that titles this post....What is a nobleman's nook and why is it the title of my blog?
Well my last name means Nobleman in German and this blog is part of my little nook is this great big world. It is cozy and I like it here and I hope you do to.
